The Colors of Venice - Artist's Book (2020)

Capturing the spirit of place, The Colors of Venice is a unique artist’s book featuring stunning photography by artist and photographer Terry Smith. Colors dance and sing on pages painted with layers of watercolor, acrylic, and ink over which Terry has transferred photography from his multiple trips to Venice. The photos were first printed onto a transfer film with archival ink and then manipulated through cutting, sanding, and other forms before being transferred onto the painted page. Sections of canvas painted and overlaid with image transfers also highlight pages of the book. Vivid hues of paint and ink swirl and blend together to create a Venetian relic lost in time.
