Red Umbrella, Rue des Francs Bourgeois, PARIS
This is one of my personal favorites from my last trip to Paris. I don’t expect it to have any level of wide appeal or commercial success, but just as an image there’s something about it that appeals to me. For anywhere I travel I work on having a mental objective for the type of images that I want to create. Often it’s a mix of specific shots (and lighting, time of day, etc.), often referred to as previsualization, and overall subject matter and aesthetic that I want to work on. The red umbrella shot is certainly not something I previsualized, but it does fit into what I was working on trying to achieve at the time.
